Prototyping
Used a joiner and planer to create an even thickness and flat surface on the Red oak and Red GRandis Lumber
Routed out a curve on a piece of Red oak to make the edges for the twine to sit in. Utilized the spindle sander to smooth any bumps.
Cut out each piece using the band saw and drilled out a 1 1/8" entrance for the bird
Cut a pin of metal and drilled a hole into both sides of wood to make a door. Cut a thin piece of wood to stop the door from swinging too far back and made a knob so it is easier to open.
Piece by piece glued the base together, starting with the larger face planes.
carved out notches for the twine to support the twine. Use the end of a hot glue gun to seal the ends of the twine so it does not unravel.
